Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 1, 1997.

The crossed keys represent the patron S. Pedro (St. Peter), and the blue and silver waves in the bottom end represent the Douro river. The book refers to the schools, museums and monuments that exist in the freguesia, as does the stone wall in the bottom of the shield.

The green field represents not only the importance and size of green spaces but also the hope in the future from the local people.
