Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 10, 1964.

The arms show a borderstone, symbol of the complicated history of the area, which can still be seen by the many borderstones in the municipality. The red gonfanon is the symbol of the Counts of Montfort-Rothenfels. The red and silver shield is the arms of Austria. A large part of the municipality historically belonged to either the counts of Austria.
