Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 26, 1984.

The first quarter shows the arms of the Franken region and also refers to the Diocese of Würzburg, to which the area historically belonged. The two judge's staffs refer to the special court which was held in the village for a long time. It was a common court for several estates and rulers for the region. Two main families involved were the Lords of Thüngen and the Lords of Hutten. The golden and red colours are taken from their arms. At the same time the two staffs refer to the joint rule over the area from 1803-1866 between Hessen and Bayern.

The lower half symbolises the formerly important water mills in the Sinn river. The green colour refers to the agricultural character and nature in the municipality.
