The arms are canting, being Middle-forest. The Moor's head is the arms of the bishops of [[Freising]]. After the secularisation in 1803 when all grounds of the church were confiscated, the head was replaced by a small shield with the arms of Bayern (in 1819). In 1892 the old arms were restored, only the crown was now gold, instead of the historical red.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 20, 1407 by Berthold von Wehingen, bishop of Freising (1382-1410). Confirmed in 1986.

The arms are canting, being Middle-forest. The Moor's head is the arms of the bishops of Freising. After the secularisation in 1803 when all grounds of the church were confiscated, the head was replaced by a small shield with the arms of Bayern (in 1819). In 1892 the old arms were restored, only the crown was now gold, instead of the historical red.
