Origin/meaning

The first field contains the Silesian eagle as the modern region mostly contains territory of the historical region.

The second field contains the Moravian eagle as the modern region contains some land from the historical region.

The third field contains the arms of Ostrava as the capital city of the region.

The fourth field contains the arms of the Duchy of Opava (pales) and the Duchy of Těšín (eagle).

The arms were registered on November 13, 2002.
