Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a shield-shaped embroidered device consisting of a white oval displaying the upper body of a Spartan Warrior depicted in blue with gold armor and sword, his helmet also blue with a gold crest and he carries a blue oval shield charged with a gold oval. Attached around the circumference of the inner oval is a blue scroll inscribed “MOUNT TABOR SPARTANS” in gold letters. The entire oval is cropped horizontally at the top and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border. The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) at its widest point and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in height.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: On a Gold color, metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height, consisting of a shield blazoned: “Azure, issuant from base a demi-Spartan Warrior armed Or, the shield charged with a hurt, entoured by two scrolls”. One double arched to base Blue inscribed “MOUNT TABOR” and one arched to chief inscribed “SPARTANS” in Gold base metal letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Navy blue and gold are the school colors. The Spartan Warrior is the school’s mascot, which represents the determined attitude in the cadet’s outlook toward performance and achievement. The shield shape signifies a guarding of the traditions of the school and community.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved on 12 March 2003.
