Écartelé: au 1er d'or au sautoir de gueules, aux 2e et 3e fascé d'argent et d'azur, au 4e de gueules à quatre maillons de chaînes d'or posés en croix et retenus au centre par un annelet du même.

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1978.

The first quarter shows the arms of the Lords of Hattstatt, who owned the village from 1324-1585. The second and third quarter show the arms of their successors, the Truchsess family. The fourth quarter shows a typical historical symbol used on the borderstones of the village of Unterlinden.
