Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 19, 1926.

The beech tree refers to the medieval village of Buchholz (Buche=beech), which no longer exists, in the municipality. The area historically belonged for centuries to the Pfalz and the two diamonds are taken from the arms of the Wittelsbach family (see Bayern), who were the Counts-Electors of the Pfalz at the time.
