The arms show a shed (Schopf in German), a canting element. The shed already appeared on the 16<sup>th</sup> century seal of the village. As no colours were known in the early 20<sup>th</sup> century it was decided to use black and silver.

The arms were granted in 1901.

The arms show a shed (Schopf in German), a canting element. The shed already appeared on the 16th century seal of the village. As no colours were known in the early 20th century it was decided to use black and silver.
