Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 14, 1844.

The arms show a walnut branch, making it a canting symbol (Nuss is (wal)nut). The branch already appeared on the seal from 1492 and was granted in 1844 in arbitrarily chosen colours.

Literature : Debus, 1988.
