German Gespalten von Rot und Gold; vorne unter von Rot und Blau geteiltem Schildhaupt ein wachsender, silberner Felsenberg, hinten übereinander drei schreitende, herschauende, rot bewehrte schwarze Löwen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 23, 1973.

The arms are mainly based on the old arms of the Sonthofen district, in which the flower is replaced by the blue bar. The blue bar is derived form the blue-red division of the arms of the Kempten district.
