OBERFISCHBACH

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Lahn Kreis (until 1969 Unterlahnkreis)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Katzenelnbogen

Wappen von Oberfischbach/Arms (crest) of Oberfischbach
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms refer to the three Fischbach villages : Ober-, Mittel- and Niederfischbach. The three fish refer to the three villages, the larger fish for the individual village; in Oberfischbach the upper fish is the largest, in Mittelfischbach the middle fish. Niederfischbach does no longer exist, but would have the lower fish as the largest.
