Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 8, 1960.

The wolf in the lower half is taken from the seal of the historical Katzweiler court and Wolfstein Amt to which the village historically belonged. The bar is a canting element (Bach=brook, stream).

The three salt crystals in the upper half are also a canting element (Salz=Sulz=salt).
