Geteilt; oben in Blau ein wachsender, dreimal von Silber und Rot geteilter, golden bewehrter Löwe, unten in Silber drei Reihen blauen Eisenhutfehs Origin/meaning The arms were granted on December 16, 1950. The upper part shows the lion of Hessen, as most of the district belongs to Hessen since 1502.
