Official blazon

Escudo de prata, postos em faixa uma roda dentada de azul e um favo de mel de seis alvéolos, de ouro, perfilados de negro, postos um, dois, um, dois e pendente do primeiro um fio de prumo de negro; em chefe, escudete de vermelho, com martelo de ferreiro posto em faixa e quatro quadrifólios, tudo de ouro; em ponta, oliveira arrancada de verde, frutada de negro. Coroa mural de quatro torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas: “ PÓVOA DE SANTO ADRIÃO “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 19, 1995.

The cog wheel refers to the industry and industrial character of the parish, whereas the olive tree refers to the former agricultural importance.

The honey comb refers to the growth of the parish in time, with new boroughs added regularly. The small escutcheon shows the symbols of the locat patron saint, St. Adrianus.
