PARISH OF KVARSEBO (LINKÖPING DIOCESE)

Denomination : Lutheran

Arms (crest) of the Parish of Kvarsebo (Linköping Diocese)

Official blazon

I blått fält ett treberg av guld, belagt med ett rött utböjt kors, och därunder en medelst en vågskura bildad blå ginstam, belagd med en fisk av guld.

Origin/meaning

The Tirrplemount alludes to the Hilly Area of the Parish. The Cross is form the arms of the Pricely hous of Holstein-Gottorp to which Queen Kristina, wife of King Karl IX, belonged. After her was named Kristinæ Chapel, the former name of the Parish. The Wavy Base symbolises the Bay Bråviken. The Fish is form the Seal of the Hundred of Östkind. Fishing was also important in the Area. Designed by Per Andersson and assumed 25 April 1996.
