Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 11, 1982.

The wavy bar refers to the Donau on which the municipality is situated. The Donau is also important for the local economy, as it has deposited many small stones, which are mined in the village.

The star is the symbol of St. Mary and refers to the Cathedral Chapter of Augsburg, which ruled the village for many centuries. St. Mary is the parton saint of the chapter. The red and silver colours are those of the Diocese of Augsburg.

The beehive is a symbol for the historical importance of beekeeping in the village.

The blue and silver are the colours of Bayern.
