• (1952) Ecartelé: aux 1 et 4 d'or au lion de gueules couronné d'azur; aux 2 et 3 de sable au léopad lionné d'argent lampassé de gueules - sur le tout parti à dextre de gueules à 3 lions d'or, à senestre coupé en chef de gueules à deux saumons adossés d'argent accompagnés de quatre croisettes du même posées 1, 2 et 1 et en pointe d'azur à la fasce d'argent - 1'écu placé sur un manteau de pourpre fourré d'hermine, frangé et houppé d'or sommé de la couronne de prince du Saint-Empire.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 7, 1952 and again on March 9, 1979.

The arms are those of the Princes of Salm-Kyrbourg, the last Lords of the Manor of Pecq, from 1765-1794. The quarters represent Wildgraven (I and IV), Rheingrafen (II and III), Kyrbourg (three lions), Salm (fish) and Vinstingen (bar).
In 1885 the municipality adopted arms showing only a silver fish in blue, probably derived from the Salm arms, but these arms were never officially granted.

In 1979 the blazon was adjusted, but the arms remained the same.
