Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 27, 1956.

The arms are those of the last Lords of Peutie, the Baudequin family, who acquired the estate in 1643 and were promoted to barons in 1766. The arms were also used on the seal of the council in the late 18th century.

Literature: Servais, 1955
