Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 30, 1956.

The arms are a combination of the eagle from the arms of the Beninga family and typical tools used on the dykes. The tools were also part of the arms of the Wiltets family from Pilsum.

Literature: Leiner, K. : Panorama Norden. Norden, 1972.
