Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on March 23, 2003.

The arms wer, according to legend, designed in 1263 by the local Knirght Peter of Prochowice. Th earms indicate that the local forsts and rivers (Kaczawa, Bobrek and Oder) were full of game and fish.

The design of the arms basically never changed since. The historical colours are a golden sea-har eon a red shield, but in 2003 the local mayor decided to change the colours to the colours of the flag.
