RENDSBURG-ECKERNFÖRDE (RD)
State : Schleswig-Holstein
Additions : 1970 Rendsburg, Eckernförde
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 31, 1971.
The district is situated in both the historical regions of Holstein and Schleswig. The arms symbolise this by having the lions of Schleswig in the upper half and the nettle-leaf of Holstein in the lower half.
The wavy division line is the Eider river, which separates the two historical regions.
