Official blazon

(1818) Van lazuur, beladen met een kerk waarop een toorn op dewelke twee kruizen, en pointe een beek waarop roozestruikjes, alles van goud.
(1844) Een blauw veld,met eene gulden kerk, met twee kruiskens als windwijzer, des gelijks, vergezeld in het onderste deel van eene beekvan het veld, gekleurd met wit, en omlegd met gulden bloeijende rozeboomen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 4, 1818 and confirmed on December 7, 1844.

The arms show the local church in the early 19^th century and in the base some canting elements; roses around a stream (beek). The arms are not well designed and typical for the early 19^th century.

The colours are the Dutch national colours, as the local council did not specify the colours in the proposal. In 1844 the Belgian government confirmed the design and the old colours.
