Sachsenburg.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on October 3, 1995.

The arms were granted prior to 1545 when the arms were first used. The arms are canting, showing a kind of sieve or trough, Sachse in German. The trough is filled with iron ore grains, as iron mining was important for the town at the time. The Sachse was used in purification of the ore.

The previous arms wer granted on March 17, 1972.

These arms show the same composition, but the trough in natual colours and with mineral sand in the trough.
