Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??-??-????.

The wheel with the five spokes symbolises the five municipalities in the Samtgemeinde. The wheel as such als represents the central municipality of Werlte, in which industry ia the main activity. The wheel is also part of the arms of the municipality of Werlte. The four wheat ears refer to the other four municipalities, which have a more agricultural character. The colours gold and red are those of the Corvey Abbey, which ruled the Hümmling region in which the municipality is situated.
