SANT GREGORI
Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona
Official blazon
Escut caironat partit: 1r. de gules, una creu papal d'argent; 2n. d'or, 4 pals de gules. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 5th August 1988.
The papal cross is the attribute of St. Gregory (pope, 6th-7th centuries), the local patron saint. The royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four pales Gules on Or) remind that the village was under the jurisdiction of the Crown.
