Spanish Escudo cuartelado. Primero, de azur, un racimo de uvas de oro. Segundo, de plata, un recipiente de barro en su color. Tercero, de plata, un cardón en su color. Cuarto, de azur, un ancla de plata. Sobre el todo, escusón de oro con una cruz de Santiago de gules. Bordura de gules, con nueve siluetas del Teide de plata. Al timbre, corona condal. En punta, cinta de plata con el lema Villa Histórica Santiago del Teide.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 9, 2005.

The 1st quarter is symbolizing the settlements of El Mollede, Las Manchas, Valle de Arriba and El Retamar, in which there is viticulture, which had great importance also in the past. The 2nd quarter is symbolizing the settlement of Arguayo, famous for its pottery, being an aboriginal artcraft of the Guanches.
The cactus is symbolizing the settlement of Tamaimo, where there are many cactusses of that kind. The anchor is a symbol of the coastal region, especially Puerto de Santiago.
The St.Jakobs-cross within the inescutcheon is an alusion to the municipalities name as well as the triangular silhouettes, their number is the total number of the municipalities settlements. The coronet is an alusion to the Counts of Siete Fuentes for having been the local rulers.
