Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted after the merger with Amt Halver and Hülscheid.
The arms are based on the old arms of Schalksmühle (see below) and Hülscheid. The water-mill wheel is derived from Schalksmühle (Mühle, or mill, making it a canting symbol), and the ivy (Hüls) for Hülscheid.
