SCHILLINGSFÜRST

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Ansbach (until 1973 Rothenburg ob der Tauber)
Additions : 1972 Stilzendorf; 1977 Faulenberg

Wappen von Schillingsfürst

Official blazon

Geteilt durch drei Spitzen in Rot und Silber; oben ein silberner, unten ein schwarzer hersehender Löwe (Leopard) mit eingeschlagenem Schweif.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 27, 1958.

The shield is divided according to the arms of Franken (Franconia), a symbol for the village of Frankenheim. The two lions are taken from the arms of the Hohenlohe dynasty. The family owned the local castle and a branch of the family named itself Von Schillingsfürst. The colour of the local lion was adopted to the colours of the shield, the lower lion is in the original colour.
