Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 20, 1958.

The roses in the arms are taken from the arms of the Counts of Wertheim. In 1314 Countess Elisabeth von Wertheim bought the village and donated it to the Grünau monastery. Until 1803 the counts and the monastery ruled the village together. The cross and the green colour represent the monastery. The oak tree and the green colour refer to the forests in the Spessart area.
