Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 10, 1965.

The design features a white saltire on a blue and green background, which evokes both the national flag and the land and water of Scotland. The various charges show the wide variety of produce from the activities practiced on Scotland’s rural estates, in particular fishing, hunting, shooting, forestry, and farming.
