SECK

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Westerwaldkreis (until 1974 Oberwesterwaldkreis)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Rennerod

Wappen von Seck/Arms (crest) of Seck
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The oldest seals of the village, dating from the 16th and 17th century show the patron saint, St. Kilian, as a bishop holding a staff. After 1637 the local seals only showed the name of the village. The above proposal shows the attributes of St. Kilian in the colours of the arms of the Gemünden Abbey, to which the village belonged until 1637.
