Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1949.

The village was for many centuries a possession of the Abbey of Sainte Glossinde in Metz and was part of the Metz Valley region (Val de Metz). This i sshown in the arms which shoe the Val de Metz arms as a chief on the arms of the Abbey.
