Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 1, 1947.

The lion in the arms is derived from the arms of the St. Bavo Abbey in Gent. The village of Sint-Amandsberg was a possession of the abbey for many centuries (see also Oostakker, Lochristi and Sint Lievens Houtem).

The supporter, St. Amand is the patron saint of Sint-Amandsberg.
