Origin/meaning

The arms were proposed in 1906 by the State Archives. The pine tree is derived from the arms of the Hauenstein County, in which the village historically was situated. The small shield shows a water mill wheel, the local water mill was already mentioned in the 13th century, and played a major role in the development of the village.
