SZOLNOK
Province (county) : Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok
Origin/meaning
The upper half shows a pelican feeding its young with his blood. The symbol is used here as the city was often destroyed during the last 1000 years, and has always been rebuilt.

The lower half in the old arms shows the bridge over the Tisza river, that runs through the city.
