Sinisessä kentässä nyhäkoroinen kärki, josta nousee kaarisakarainen risti; molemmat hopeaa.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 18, 1959.

The arms show the old ruin of a chapel on top of the Tohninmäki hills close to the village. This ruin is a landmark in the area.

Since 2013 the arms are used by the new Alavus municipality.
