Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 19, 1993.

The right side is the historic coat of arms of Tegueste. The tree is a symbol of the woods of laurel upon the municipalities hilltops. The green colour of the terrace is referring to the fertility of the soil, finally the torrent is an image of the fountain of Mocán, supplying the municipality with water for ages. Ears of grain and grapes are the traditional plants, being cultivated in Tegueste.
