Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1906 and adopted in 1913. The arms did not change after the merger in 1975.

The oldest known seal of Teningen dates from 1476 and shows already the plough iron. The symbol later appeared on the seals and on border stones of the village. Since 1531 the local seals combined the iron with the bend of Baden. Hence in 1906 the State Archives kept the combination of plough iron and Baden, and added the colours for the iron, which were not determined previously.
