Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 2006.

The first quarter refers to the recent developments in the solar industry in the municipality, as well as the future of the town. The fish heads are taken from the arms of the von Zanthier family, who played a major role in the local history. The family use dthree fish heads in their arms.

The third quarter symbolises the Mulde river, the forth the (former) impportance of agriculture for the area.
