TODTNAU

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Lörrach
Additions : 1939 Brandenberg-Fahl, 1972 Schlechtnau; 1974 Aftersteg, Geschwend, Muggenbrunn, Präg, Todtnauberg

Wappen von Todtnau

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1903 and 1969 but are based on the oldest seal of the town, dating from the 14th century.

All later seals have shown a miner, as the town historically was a typical mining town. The shape of the miner has differed widely during the centuries. The present image is based directly on the oldest seal. The colours are chosen arbitrarily.

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
