Escudo de ouro com uma torre torreada de negro, aberta e iluminada de prata, acompanhada em chefe da cruz dos Templários, e da Cruz de Cristo e a mesma torre assente num monte de verde cortado por um rio ondeado de prata aguado de azul. Coroa mural de prata de cinco torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro : " TOMAR ".*

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 20, 1960.

The arms show the (huge) local castle built by the Knights Templar, and which is situated on a large hill. The crosses are the symbols of the knights.
