Origin/meaning

Gold is the color of the broom and gorse of Brittany, the green and the tree refer to the forests and woods. The Viking ax and the Breton sword refer to the Breton leaders Alain Barbe Torte and Juhel Beranger who won the battle of Trans on August 10, 939 against the Vikings.
