Official blazon

Per chevron vert and sable, in chief two Irish elks rampant reguardant proper supporting a Tau cross or, in base a castle double-towered between the towers an obtuse spire surmounted by a cross flory argent, with the Motto: Eagna chun Gnimh.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 15, 1972 to the National Institute for Higher Education (Limerick).
