Origin/meaning :
The palm trees are those of the Vacoas and Phoenix variety and are, together with the Phoenix in the chief and crest, canting elements. The phoenix is flanked by two sugar cane branches, the main agricultural crop in the area.
The motto is Copia et Concordia, meaning harmony and abundance.
