In zilver een dwarsbalk van keel, getralied van goud.

Origin/meaning

(1626-1672), lieutenant colonel of the Walen regiment and governor of Hellevoetsluis. On December 21, 1665, he was elected by the States of Holland as the first commander of a unit of 'ship soldiers', comparable to the later marines. He is considered the first commander of the Marine Corps.
