VIŠNJAN

County : Istria County

Arms of Višnjan

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on March 30, 2006.

The arms were originally granted in 1828 by Emperor Francis I and showed the city as it was then - a fortified city with the church of St. Anthony outside the city walls, as well as olive trees that was the main produce at the time. The original coat of arms was modernized in 2006, when the tree was replaced with a laurel tree and a path leading to the city from the base was removed.
