Escudo de prata, pinheiro de verde, arrancado do mesmo e frutado de ouro; em chefe, quatro telhas de vermelho. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : “ VILA NOVA DA TELHA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 21, 2000.

The red roof tiles (telhas) are a canting elementand refer to the (former) large production of such tiles in the parish. The pine tree refers to the former large forests in the municipality as well as forestry.
