Escudo de verde, obelisco de ouro entre um camaleão de prata e um atum do mesmo, posto em pala; contra-chefe diminuto ondeado, de prata e azul de três tiras. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ FREGUESIA DE VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 13, 2002.

The arms show the image of the local monument in remembrance of the foundation of the town. The chameleon is a typical local animal, whereas the tuna is a symbol for the fisheries and canning industry in the municipality.

The base symbolises the Guadiana river.
