Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1935.

The checquered field is taken from the arms of the Lords of Zavelstein and the Lordship of Zavelstein, to which most of the area historically belonged. The wavy bar refers to the Wúrzbach river.

Literature: Jäger, 1986
